Jordan Platten on how AI will transform digital marketing

AI is sparking a revolution in the digital marketing landscape, and I’ve been right at the forefront, riding this wave of transformation. It’s not just about streamlining processes or automating tasks, it’s a massive shift in how we connect, operate and innovate.

When ChatGPT burst onto the scene, I didn’t see just another piece of tech. I saw an opportunity, a game-changer. This was no mere tool, but a catalyst that could supercharge our workflows and redefine how we work.

At Affluent.co, where I led a team that’s already generated over $75 million in return on investment for our clients, we decided to put AI to the test right away. I asked my team to scrutinize every task, every process, and identify how we could make things more efficient through AI.

What we discovered was transformative. A few quick examples would be automating our client report summaries, and creating a new sales feedback process. We leveraged AI to provide daily feedback to our sales team based on their call recording transcriptions. This wasn’t just a minor efficiency increase, it was saving us hours of work every single day.

Yet this is only the tip of the iceberg. As AI continues to evolve, so does its potential. It’s opening doors to more personalized, engaging experiences for consumers. It’s bringing about more relevant ads and intuitive interactions, reshaping how we look at our advertising strategies.

Now, I’m not saying the journey with AI is without its speed bumps. There’s an apprehension floating around that AI might kick human marketers off the driving seat. But let me tell you something – AI isn’t here to snatch away your job, it’s here to make it better. Sure, it’s automating tasks, but those tasks are the ones we’d gladly hand over. They free us up for what we’re truly good at: strategic, creative, uniquely human tasks.

It’s not about replacement, it’s about upskilling, learning to work with AI, and ultimately, becoming a better marketer in this brave new world. And remember, AI isn’t the opponent here; it’s a teammate – here to bolster our capabilities, not bench us.

But, I understand the apprehension. AI is a disruptor, a change-maker. For some, it may be daunting. Yet, I firmly believe that we shouldn’t shy away from this change, but rather, embrace it. AI isn’t a threat, it’s an ally. The marriage of human creativity and AI isn’t a hurdle, it’s an opportunity to leap forward.

So here’s my call to you: Embrace AI. Integrate it, experiment with it, innovate with it. The future of digital marketing is here, and it’s powered by AI. I, for one, am thrilled to be a part of this journey and can’t wait to see where it takes us. This isn’t about surviving in the new era, it’s about thriving. Let’s ride this wave of change together.
